Today, October 1, 2025, marks an incredible moment in our history: the SCHENKgroep is celebrating its 55th anniversary!

Since our founding in 1970, the SCHENK Group has grown into the strong, innovative, and reliable partner that we are today. This milestone is a testament to the dedication, hard work, and passion of everyone who is or has been a part of our group.

We are incredibly proud of the journey we have taken: the challenges we have overcome, the successes we have achieved, and the valuable relationships we have built. Your trust and loyalty are the driving force behind the 55-year success story of the SCHENKgroep.

Our History: 55 Years of SCHENK Group in Brief

Five and a half decades ago, on October 1, 1970, our story began. Cor Schenk started his sole proprietorship in the nautical trade in a former chicken coop in Hernen. The founder’s boundless energy led to the hiring of the first staff member in 1976 Due to tough times in yacht building, the course was changed, and SCHENK Containers en Constructiewerken (Containers and Construction Works) was launched.

Due to exponential growth, the company moved to Wijchen in 1983 and to its current premises in Nijmegen in 1991 From that moment on, the focus was on the collection and transport of waste The introduction of the Self-Compacting Container (ZPC) in 1994 and the Collection Compacting Container (IPC) in 1997 established our name as a reliable and high-quality innovation partner. In 2008, we introduced the smart SCHENK City Trailer (SCT) for urban areas/the city center. The 55-year existence of the SCHENK Group is a succession of provided solutions: from the founding of SCHENK Containerverhuur (Container Rental) in 1998 to the handover to the second generation, Roel Schenk and Martine Schraven-Schenk, in 2014 and 2020.

As a family business in the Betuwe region, we offer solid solutions today for efficiency and time-saving in waste processing, transport, storage, and transshipment. We are not only a supplier of (liquid-tight) containers and compactors/presses, but also have an extensive workshop for maintenance, inspection, and mobile service. With a growing rental fleet of nearly a thousand liquid-tight containers, we take the worry out of your hands. Our focus is on relieving your burden: our employees are ready to assist you, so you can fully concentrate on your own work.

Although we are taking a moment today to reflect on this wonderful anniversary, we are primarily looking ahead. Without inspiring demand from the market, there is no right to exist; your wishes and questions are our driving force. This is the core of the SCHENKgroep.
