Betuwe on Stage: an active and educational Do Day
Yesterday we welcomed enthusiastic students during the Do Day of Betuwe on Stage. It was a day full of hands-on experiences where they discovered what it’s like to work in technology and logistics. There were two groups: a larger group in the morning and a smaller one in the afternoon.
The day started with a tour of our company, giving students a clear picture of our work and safety regulations. Afterwards, the group was split. One half got to work with welding, while the other explored the logistics side. After a short break, the groups switched, so that everyone could experience both activities.
During welding, the students, guided by experienced welders, created their own nameplate. First they practiced on a plate, and then quickly moved on to their actual piece. The other group experienced the work of a driver: they rode along in the truck while containers were moved and saw how they were stacked with a forklift. In between, there was also time to look inside the containers and even climb into the impressive 80m³ container.
To wrap up, all students received a small gift and took their own welding work home. We look back on an inspiring and interactive day.
